The Effect of a Predictive Model of Bowel Preparation Based on Procedure-related Factors

The rate of adequate bowel preparation is one of important quality indicators of colonoscopy. Inadequate bowel preparation negatively affects the outcomes of colonoscopy. If patients with inadequate bowel preparation were identified before the procedure, enhanced strategy could be offered to achieve better bowel cleaning. Currently, there were three predicting models …

Cognitive Outcomes After Dexmedetomidine Sedation in Cardiac Surgery Patients

Anesthesia is a drug induced, reversible, comatose state that facilitates surgery and it is widely assumed that cognition returns to baseline after anesthetics have been eliminated. However, many patients have persistent memory impairment for weeks to months after surgery. Cardiac surgery appears to carry the highest risk of postoperative cognitive …

Reduced vs Conventional Dosage Intensity-modulated Radiotherapy for Chemotherapy-sensitive Stage II-III Nasopharyngeal Carcinoma

Through multicenter, open-label, randomised clinical trials, we intend to demonstrate that radiotherapy with reduced dose could significantly reduce the incidence of radiotherapy toxicities, improve the quality of life of patients while ensuring the tumor control rates for NPC patients staged as II-III who are sensitive to induction chemotherapy (imaging evaluation …

Study to Assess the Efficacy and Safety of Nivolumab in Combination With Paclitaxel in Subjects With Head and Neck Cancer Unable for Cisplatin-based Chemotherapy (NIVOTAX)

Chemotherapy for recurrent or metastatic head and neck squamous cell carcinoma is palliative and usually platinum based, and the patients often present with poor physical condition. Consequently, many of them are not able to withstand a platinum-based chemotherapy. The addition of taxanes to the armamentarium of drugs improve the outcome …

Evaluation of the Right Ventricular Systolic Function Using Real-time Three-dimensional Echocardiography in Intensive Care Unit Patients

Right ventricular failure (RVF) is an independent factor of mortality for many pulmonary diseases. Currently, RVF is defined as the incapacity of the RV to maintain the flow without dilating to use the Frank-Starling law (i.e., increase of the ejection volume associated to an increase of the preload). RVF is …
