Role of Nasal Dysbiosis in Parkinson Disease

In across-sectional bicentric study, groups of 160 PD patients and 160 controls will be compared for nasal microbiota composition according to their geographical origin. We will search an association between microbiota and the presence of an olfactory deficit, cognitive deficit and thymic disorder.

Test Food4GutMarKIT - Evaluation of a Tailored Personalized Food Concept for a Healthy Gut Microbiota and Validation of Biomarkers for Monitoring of Its Effects

The overall test test test test aim in this "proof-of-concept" study is to evaluate if a diet concept, based on foods that have individually been reported to beneficially affect gut microbiota in fact has an effect on gut microbiota composition and activity among healthy and obese subjects and whether the …

Effect of Ketone Esters in Parkinson's Disease

Ketones esters have shown to improve mitochondrial function and are currently use to enhanced functional performance. As Mitochondrial dysfunction is one of the proposed mechanism of neuronal injury in Parkinson's disease, the study aims to assess the tolerability, side effects and effect of oral ketone esters in Patients with Parkinson's disease.

Gut Microbiota SCFAs and Glucolipid Metabolism in Pregnant Women With Abnormal Fetal Size and Their Newborns

Studies have found that gut microbiota can regulate insulin sensitivity and glucose and lipid metabolism disorders through SCFAs. Therefore, this research group uses the gut microbiota as a new idea to studythe relationship of gut microbiota characteristics and level's change of SCFAs with glucolipid metabolism and insulin sensitivity in pregnant …

Microbiota in COVID-19 Patients for Future Therapeutic and Preventive Approaches

To establish colonization, pathogens have to interact with the local microbiota (a.k.a. microbiome) and certain microbiome profiles will be more resistant to pathogen invasion. Finally, (III) Handheld devices used in clinical routine are a potential reservoir and carrier of both, SARS-CoV-2, as well as bacteria causing nosocomial pneumonia.
