This study investigates the effectiveness of auricular acupressure in managing Premenstrual Syndrome (PMS) symptoms among female undergraduate students. PMS is a common condition causing emotional, behavioural, and physical symptoms before menstruation. Auricular acupressure is a non-invasive method that applies pressure to specific points on the ear, and this study aims to see if it can reduce PMS symptoms compared to a sham treatment.
Participants will receive either auricular acupressure or a sham treatment for eight weeks. They will complete assessments of PMS symptoms using the Premenstrual Symptoms Screening Tool and quality of life evaluations with the WHOQOL-Bref scale at the start, after one week, and after eight weeks. The study will monitor any adverse effects during this period.
